D9.8 Coordinated Policy Briefs on PFAS Regulation

The SCENARIOS project aims to develop environmentally sustainable solutions to protect human health and natural resources from persistent and mobile chemicals, thereby focusing on the chemical class of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) as a test bed. This deliverable report is a discussion of relevant aspects on policies regulating PFAS in the environment at EU level. We have provided a practical structure to include the relevant information regarding the consolidated policies, those under revision to allocate PFAS in the list of priority substances and those at early stage of development. These policies cover in particular water bodies, including drinking water, but touch also air, soil, food and waste. These results are organised in order to identify the main gaps that can be covered by SCENARIOS solutions. This Deliverable has been updated to January 2024. Output Task 9.5. Input Task 9.5, T8.1-8.8. This Deliverable has the potential to contribute to new policy within the EU.
